In this edition of our Team Spotlight, we sat down with Anuj to explore his journey as a Software Consultant, his approach to solving complex engineering challenges, and his perspective on leadership, AI, and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients.

1. Please describe your role and a typical day at Fabric.

I’m a Software Consultant focused on solving complex engineering challenges while helping clients improve the way they work. My role combines technical problem-solving with consulting, stakeholder engagement, and driving organisational change. I also contribute to proposals, keeping me closely connected to the business side.

2. What initially attracted you to join Fabric?

The people were a huge draw—I already knew several team members and admired the talent at Fabric. I also wanted to join a company where I could wear multiple hats, work across different domains, and make a meaningful impact.

3. How do you effectively manage and balance multiple clients or projects at once?

Prioritisation is key, but empowering technical leaders within each team is what really makes it work. Building trust and delegating responsibility allows me to support multiple projects while helping others grow.

4. What inspired you to pursue a career in this field?

Technology has always been part of my life. My father introduced me to computers at a young age, and that early exposure—along with a love of video games—sparked a passion for software that never left.

5. What is one aspect of your role that is commonly misunderstood?

People often think software consulting is mostly meetings and advice. In reality, we’re engineers first, solving complex technical problems with deep expertise in architecture, design, and modern engineering practices.

6. Is there a recent initiative you particularly enjoyed working on, and why?

I recently worked on a Quality Transformation for a major telecom client focused on test data management. Collaborating across teams, understanding their challenges, and helping shape a long-term solution was incredibly rewarding.

7. What advice would you offer to someone who is new to consulting?

Be an engineer first and stay adaptable. The best consultants solve technical, process, and people challenges, and in an AI-first world, being curious and versatile is more valuable than specialising too narrowly.

8. What leadership lesson has been the hardest earned—and most rewarding?

Delegation, trust, and accountability. I’ve learned that successful leadership comes from setting clear expectations, trusting your team, and giving people ownership to deliver.

9. How do you see Fabric evolving in the near future?

I see Fabric continuing to be a trusted partner for solving mission-critical problems while leading the shift to AI-first delivery through practical, meaningful transformation.

10. What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?

Outside of work, family comes first. I also love learning new things, whether it’s crypto trading, horseback riding, or simply rewatching The Office.

11. In one word, how would you describe your experience at Fabric, and what led you to choose that word?

Evolution.

I joined as a software engineer, but my role has grown into strategy, business development, and organisational transformation. Fabric has continually challenged me to learn, adapt, and grow—and that’s what has made the experience so rewarding.
