Front End Developer

Full time Front End Developer with 2 + years experience. Salary negotiable.
 

Responsibilities:
• Wireframes, Mockups & Interface Design
Create wireframes based off client requirements.
Create mock-ups based off existing wireframes and style guides.
Take Photoshop designs to functional pieces of work (100% standards compliance html/css/javascript, or  Flash/Flex).

• Flash/Flex Development
Work closely with either .NET or Java developers to integrate server side solutions into either a web based or Air     based application.
Upgrade legacy systems to newer versions of the Flex SDK and newer framework versions (Mate & PureMVC).

• HTML/CSS/JavaScript Development
Create mock-ups for integration by the backend development team.
Recommend new ways to speed up client side rendering and load times.
Code review for outputted HTML by backend development team to ensure that standards compliance is not   compromised.

• General
Support the existing Front End team.
May be required for deployment support.
Keep up to date with new best practices, frameworks, and versions of all Front End technologies.

Required skills and experience:

•2+ year’s commercial experience in Flash/Flex/XHTML projects.
• Developing and supporting large scale RIA’s a bonus
•Existing portfolio or examples of prior work is a must
•Ability to understand requirements and relay to backend developers
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment and put forward strong opinions
• Able to handle multiple projects at the same time
• Ability to expand on client requirements and offer suggestions to enhance their ideas
• Ability to think outside of the box to achieve a particular solution
• Bug testing in IE6+, Safari 3+, Firefox 3+
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal
•Ability to estimate accurately and deliver on time

Technical requirements:

•Advanced understanding of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web 2.0 trends
•Thorough understanding of data transfer formats, including XML, JSON & Web Services
• Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Flash (AS3) & Flex. Illustrator a bonus
• Thorough understanding of OOP and how to structure a website correctly
• Standards Compliance and website best practices
• Integration between Flash/Flex and PHP/.NET/Java
• Understanding of SEO and how to code effectively to enhance it
